School-based Curriculum


1. Balanced and comprehensive development of language skills

 

  • Reading

    P.4-6 reading curriculum
    Tasked-based learning and teaching approach is the framework of the curriculum design. According to themes, authentic reading materials and real books are incorporated into the GE curriculum through reading workshops.

  • Writing

    My Writing Pal
    It is a useful resource book which focuses on grammar, text types and vocabulary. Teachers make effective use of it to stretch students??writing ability.


 
  • Speaking & listening

    Reading Jam
    It is a collection of interesting poems and chants for students to read aloud during the morning reading session. Through choral speaking, students do not only polish their reading aloud skills, but also learn to appreciate poems and chants.


 

Book Chat
Students get together to talk about their favourite books and share their own ideas. It helps to improve their communication skills.

 


 

2. Well-structured study routines

 

  • Learning Log

    The design of Learning Log worksheets facilitates students??learning. Teachers make effective use of the worksheets before, during and after lessons.

Students make use of Learning Log worksheets to collect relevant and useful information before lessons as pre-lesson preparation.


 

3. Learning by doing

 

  • Task-based Learning and Teaching Approach

This approach is used as a framework for curriculum planning. Students have ample opportunities to use English throughout their learning journey.

  • Drama in English Education

Drama activities not only increase students??motivation but also provide them with meaningful opportunities to apply English.
